At last...........

Hello world....Happy new year

Ok, its been almost 1 month into 2010 and while I know I am a (little) late in wishing everyone a very happy new year..as the wise people out there say, Better late than never, right!!!

Its been 4 months since my last post and even though I have about 30 unfinished posts in my inbox, I somehow don’t seem to have found the time or enthusiasm to finish any of them!!! While I would love to blame writers block n various other ailments for this mistreatment of my blog the fact remains that I just got busy with everyday life and never found the time to write.

Anyways, don’t think it matters anymore as I guess everyone including my dad have stopped reading this blog now:):)..but I will persevere and continue to write:):)

One of my resolutions for this year(among the millions of other resolutions that I plan to break over the course of the year) is to write at least 4 line of something//anything in my blog every month. While this sounds real easy, for a procrastinator(very similar to the terminator you see:) like me this is a very tough challenge:)

So here goes...
Does anyone other than me miss all the wonderful n’ creative greeting cards that we used to receive before the invent of ecards n’ social networking sites??? With all the progress in technology, emails n' ecards seem to have taken over handwritten letters n' cards.

I used to love collecting all the cards that my family would receive over the course of a year n' am sure if anyone checks my room back home, I still have a few b'day n’ new year cards stored away in the back of my cupboard. I even kept them on display in my room when I was living in the hostel!

It was always a pleasure to open an envelope to see that someone out there was thinking of u and had taken the time out to send u a handwritten message in a wonderful little card....oh well, guess I am getting old n' think I should get back to facebook before I start sounding like a grand old lady:).

*** if any of my friends n family are by any chance reading this blog…hope u got the hint:):)***

10 days up n still no cooking blog!!! looks like my self imposed deadline has fallen flat:):)laziness has won the showdown!!

About waving adios to this blog...I have thought about it n' decided that I just can not do it..no way..I'm way too attached to it(even though I do have a funny way of showing it--not updating for month etc)
..oh well,I am trying my best to overcome my laziness so hopefully I will be writing a few posts soon!!

what next??

Procrastination seems to be my middle name right now!!!

I have been planning a cooking blog for sooo long , serioulsy,I have tried and tested loads of recipes, taken photos of all the finished product..basically I have done everything required for a cooking blog other than the most important step ie publishing the blog!

If you want to make an easy job seem mighty hard, just keep putting off doing it. ~Olin Miller

In January when I decided to write the cooking blog..I was super excited about it but as days pass..the interest is dwindlling n' so are my kitchen experiment..lol:)

So I have given myself 10 days to start the cooking blog..or just shut down this blog..forever!!not that I am writing much nowadays..:):)..dont think anyone is following this blog other than my dad..lol:)

So,in the next 10 days I either manage to raise to the (self imposed)challenge or else its goodbye folks..........

2008!!

Its been a long time since I logged onto my blog...reason..I've just been plain lazy!!:)
I've wanted to write so many things but just kept putting it off to 2moro...thank god..that 2moro is finally here:):)

So let me begin by wishing everyone a Very Very Happy New Year.May this year bring loads of laughter and happiness into you lives.

I don't usually believe in making resolutions....but then sometimes even perfection can be improved on---what say?:):)

So here are my resolutions for 2008----

1. Lose weight, get fit.

2. Start studying seriously, ace my exams.
3. Be more optimistic, stop worrying about what could have been..the past is the past!!!
4. Take time to paint, draw more often.
5. Listen-Learn!!!----everything that interests me-art,dancing,music,cooking.
6. Travel more--visit as many places as possible.
7. Read more books, blog more often:)
8. Believe in myself----Mind over matter!!
9. Work towards the dream I've always had for myself--be the successful person I want to be!!!
10. Remember to appreciate what I have more often:)

I once read in one of the many chicken soup books that I have that penning down your goals makes it more feasible to achieve them...so lets see what happens!!!

Have a lovely year ahead everyone!!!!

Just thinking!!

Warning: I'm been in a weird sate of mind for the past few days (yes this happens to me from time to time :) Guess I have just been thinking too much. A simple everyday conversation with some one made me write this post!!! So if you don’t want to end up getting depressed maybe you should skip this post :):)

Why do we always need to please people...Why is appreciation is so important??? Why is it that no matter how much you try, you can never please some people n even though you have done a wonderful job or tried your level best....they somehow make your attempts feel inadequate.

Its easy to say..."I don’t give a damn"...."Who the hell cares what he/she thinks"...but the fact remains that without that person's appreciation somehow a job well done ends up feeling incomplete. It just becomes so difficult to think from the head as the heart ends up ruling your thoughts here ....n the hurt remains...the tears continue!!!

PS: for those of you who know...yes I can be introspective...n I ain't as shallow as I act:):)

On a more upbeat note:
My darlin' sister in law just got engaged n I am totally thrilled for her

"May this be the beginning of a wonderful life together Su...muah:)"

Old!!!

Is it only me or have you people too noticed the increase in the no. of anti ageing creams in the market??? n the crazy part...these creams are all for women...nope not a single cream for men...now why is that???Dont men get wrinkles...dont they grow "OLD" too???

If you have seen one of the million ads for these anti-ageing creams, all these ladies claim that their husbands find them more attractive, just cause their wrinkles reduced.!!!!!.....what a standard right:):)

If that man needs to you to loose a few wrinkles to find you attractive...think its time you lost that man:):):) hopefully in the khumb ka mela:):):)

Oh buy the creams.....but why the whole hoopla about that stupid "old "husband of yours finding you attractive???? Use it to feel good about yourself....n for no other reason.

Whats so wrong with becoming old....no one can stay forever young right...so enjoy it.

Ya ,ya, I a little young to be giving advice(in the sense I have a few more years to go before I think of wrinkles:) , but then it is my blog right!!!!:):):)

This makes sense right....

Life is a series of pulls, back and forth
you want to do one thing but are bound to do something else
somethings hurt you, even when you know it shoudnt.
You take certain things for granted, even when you know you should never take anything for granted.

Like a tension of opposites, like a pull on a rubberband and most of us live somewhere in between. A wrestling match. Yes you could describe life that way.
Which side wins? Love wins. Love always wins.

---from the book Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom

Why???

Why do we spend most of our life hoping for something more….wishing for something that we know is out of our reach, even though we know that all this will bring us is unhappiness and regret.
Why does it always have to be one thing or the other n never both???
Why it is that we need to analyze all our moves in life and cant just be happy with what we have???
Why it is that dissatisfaction prevails no matter how happy we are??

State of mind!!!

"Are these things really better than the things I already have? Or am I just trained to be dissatisfied with what I have now? Am I just under a spell that says nothing is ever good enough?"
----Chuck Palahniuk

"We're so busy watching out for what's just ahead of us that we don't take time to enjoy where we are."
---- Calvin and Hobbes

"Reality is the name we give to our disappointments."
---- Mason Cooley
